“Clichés Revisited” seeks to exploit some of the common stereotypes associated with women. Bland, ordinary phrases are made to entice the viewer and give a more intricate meaning to a simple phrase. Different descriptive objects take the place of the head, serving as a mantel for the face value phrases and thoughts related to women.
This series of Platinum/Palladium prints explores the idea that these face value notions of women may not be as troublesome as they seem. These phrases might even describe women more accurately than we think. “Clichés Revisited” is a three part series that works to represent women as: beautifully, haunting, curiosity-seeking creatures.
